Well my son actually broke the scaphoid bone
in his hand when he fell off a pogo stick.
He is in a cast for ten weeks and it's starting to itch alot!
Thank goodness you have a scratcher so he doesn't go nuts!

Noah loves his Castscratcher and uses it every once in awhile.
He has a gortex swimming cast so the itching isn't as bad
as with a plaster one.

I broke my arm (in three places) playing basketball.
Apparently you're not supposed to land on your arm
while running full speed. I'll have to remember that.

Castscratcher is working great and I'm so glad I bought it.
People at work have been fascinated by it.
I think it has kept my sanity intact
for these last couple of weeks.
I use it constantly and if I misplace it I stop everything
I'm doing until I find it. It's my new security blanket.

I would give you two thumbs up for the Castscratcher
but I only have one working thumb right now so
that'll have to do until the cast comes off.

I was playing on a swing set with my nephews and
got to swinging very high. At the highest point,
I jumped off the front and came down wrong
and broke 4 bones in my foot !!!

Now my foot is full of pins, screws, and a metal plate.
I'll be in a cast for about 4 more weeks
so I look forward to trying out the Castscratcher!
Thus far I've been using a knitting needle,
but I am afraid that I might scratch the skin
underneath the cast.

I didn’t have to worry about what she might
try to stick down inside her cast to ease the itching….
such as numerous sharp pointy items
that could have pierced her skin.

Thanks for shipping so promptly.
My son is going crazy. He is 9.
He has a severely sprained thumb.
He will have the cast on for 4-6wks.

I think it is itchier than a break because
there is no pain now that his thumb is stable.

I typed into Windows Live Search "itch in a cast."
There is a wooden version but
I thought yours is a better design:)
I am a little skeptical of the spray.
Plus, it is a lot easier to take the Castscratcher to school.

I had a cast, toes to thigh, in 6th grade.
Used the wrong end (not the point) of a knitting needle
to scratch behind my knee. I managed to pull most
of the cheese cloth up from my ankle into a big bunch
behind my knee. I didn't tell anyone,
didn't want to get into trouble!!
Boy, was it a mess when the cast came off.

There is some mom that offers advice.
Her site comes up first in the search.
I cringed when she recommended a knitting needle.
I'm sure she meant to use the point.
I don't really think that's such a hot idea
either or even that effective.

You should go to the medical companies
and get them to purchase them in bulk.

When the cast goes on,
they get the Castscratcher too,
especially since the first days are the worst

My friend received the Castscratcher
I ordered for her after she fell and
broke her elbow. She was in a temporary
cast at the time and was having difficulty

Since her operation she's now in a

Several hours of searching didn't find any
UK equivalent, or anything that could be repurposed.

When I got the cast the hospital gave me a leaflet
which just said "never put anything inside the cast,
if it itches try cooling it with a pack of frozen peas".

I understand the dangers of breaking the skin
under the cast, but you seem to have solved that.

I ruptured the achilles tendon on
my left foot playing basketball.
I had surgery and have a cast from

The cast really started getting itchy
about a week or so ago and
I have tried several things to help
such as a hanger, baby powder,

I had to have my cast removed in the ER
about 2 days after I received my Castscratcher.
I had an acute allergic reaction to the cast material
and have been in a boot ever since.

The Castscratcher did work great
for the couple of days I got to actually use it.

My daughter is the one with the cast.
She broke 2 bones in her elbow falling off a balance board
(a long board with a wheel underneath). She landed
squarely on her elbow, ouch.

She's already itching.
We've tried the blow dryer and some other things.
I'm afraid she'll start shoving things up the cast
and they might break off or she'll gouge her skin
and cause an injury.
We can hardly wait for the Castscratcher to get here.

The Castscratcher has been wonderful!
The day before it arrived, however,
Katie called me from school to say she'd
stuck a pen down her cast to scratch and
the cap of the pen came off. So her 6-day old cast
had to be cut off and a new one put on.

Luckily the Castscratcher arrived the very next day
and she's been carefully using it since then.

One of our friends' daughters broke her elbow last week
(ironic, eh?), and I told them about the Castscratcher.
